Cools,anyone going?
Hey Jessica, I don't think so. Just a thought, perhaps in order to encourage us to go for such an event, perhaps the cost could be subsidized, and if it has already been subsidized, perhaps it could be subsidized at a higher rate?
I would think that such events are good but the pricing could be a barrier for some.
Just a thought on my end.
I guess the main point of this charitable event is to raise funds for the Cancer patients, so, Raphael, perhaps you mean the fees could be charged lower?
Or perhaps to add on to what Raphael has said, maybe the government can make a $1-to-$1 match to the fund raised and hence in a way set the registration fee slightly lower and hence to increase uptake.
I think the $1-to-$1 suggestion by Mr K.K Lee was great!
There are so many charitable events going on whole year round, but doing so, the government is establishing a good reason for a good cause and it will be seen as a credible and reliable charitable event, especially in light of the recent Ren Ci and NKF scam.
Exactly, well said, Josh!
So, from the looks of it, maybe this event ain't getting much of our attention, eh?
I was doing a search for details to the event and found it quite interesting that how such events can get a dose of support from alternative media like Facebook. Here's the link attached:

Talking about the rise of alternative media, its exposure rates and its substantial impact.
Not only facebook, there is also postings on YouTube:

It's a good event for funds raising, it has meaning for both the organizers, sponsors and the participants. (but hopefully the money falls into proper hands)
There has been a lot of competitive runs organized recently for eg. the mizuno wave run, safra singapore bay run, nike human race and etc.
It's good that such charity runs are held to give us a platform to help the needy and work out some sweat at the same time. Hope to see more of such events in the future.
Yes, exactly, like what Long has said, the funds generated must fall into the proper hands of scrupulous organizers.
And there are more and more such events coming up, even if not in name of charity work, back to the many posts previously about ageing population, remember what the authroirites mentioned about taking charge of one's health? Perhaps these event also serves as a route for the elderly to get together with a doze of increasing cohesiveness and bonding.
I am going! I feel that the fee is affordable and it gives us a meaning for joining the event. There is an urgent need to support cancer research in the hope that cancer can over time be understood, diagnosed and treated. Do give your support yeah!!
